We have a private beach on the West Grand Traverse Bay.  It is located across the street (S. West Bay Shore Drive) from the cottages and motel rooms.  S. West Bay Shore Drive is a 2-lane blacktop road.  We suggest that you always cross with your children to beach.

The water deepens gradually.  The beach it's self is sandy.  However, as you get a ways into the water, there are rocks about the size of your fist.  You may find it more comfortable to wear water shoes or aqua socks.
