New Space: Innkeeper’s Cottage Now Available

We are so proud to announce our newest space, the Innkeepers Cottage is a triumph of classic cottage charm with timeless design. First guests arrived on June 1st, and the calander is filling up fast. Through all the sweat, minor injuries and backache we were thinking of you. Our winter was full of demolitions, renovations, and restorations on this two-bedroom, one-bathroom space. 100% of this project was completed by the Anchor Inn team, and we are so excited to show it to you! Every grout line, brush stroke and plumbing fixture was the work of our hands.

We began demolition down to the studs in February, and it’s been a harrowing sprint to finish by summer. Our goal was to take the existing layout of the space and revitalize it with new flooring, fixtures, wall coverings, shower tile, and fresh coastal tones and textures that blend with northern Michigan’s scenery.

Each of the two bedrooms have their own unique charm. Room one embraces a rich, modern palette with deep blue walls, a caramel gingham headboard, paired with antique furnishings. Room two leans more traditional offering a warm aesthetic, featuring a four-poster wooden bed, soft green walls, woven lamps, and antique persian area rug adding to the cottage’s coziness.

In the living room and kitchen, we restored the original stucco walls and paired it with stone tile. The original enamel on iron sink from the 1940s was thoughtfully restored and put back into use. The custom butcher block kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and was designed with families in mind, with a full-sized fridge and oven. As one of the most spacious areas in the cottage, it comfortably allows multiple people to cook together at the same time. Lastly, the bathroom has been completely remodeled with timeless fixtures that feel lived in and loved.

As we worked through the winter, we couldn’t help but feel grateful for all the future memories that will be made in this space. Our dream—then and now—is to curate spaces where guests can relax and fully experience all that northern Michigan has to offer.
